Welcome to the Wayfarers Rest Tavern. You feel rested.

Hello and welcome to the Wayfarers Rest Tavern. The site is currently in beta which means if you find a problem please contact me and I'll get it fixed. All posts and comments will be saved and carry over to the final site so don't worry.

What is this site and who is for, you ask? It's for you, the Horde Roleplaying community of the Twisting Nether server. It's for you and by you. Anything you want to share you can, from Roleplays to OOCs to in game tips. The site is what everyone makes it.

To get started just click on the 'New Users Register' button and sign up.

Thanks for visiting and safe travels.

Some of my favorite recent posts.

Know Your Lore: Hakkar the Soulflayer

“Today we’re going to look at Hakkar the Soulflayer, not to be confused with Hakkar the Houndmaster which apparently came first in the lore, but I don’t really care which of them came first because the Blood God (that one’s the Soulflayer) is way cooler. What the Soulflayer actually is is largely a mystery. He’s a god, certainly, but Azeroth has many flavors of gods and demigods. He is probably just a Loa god, but our buddy Brann Bronzebeard seems to think he’s more than that. Specifically, Hakkar might be the son of an Old God.”

All the World’s a Stage: Pros and cons of total-immersion roleplay

“There are degrees to roleplaying. Some people like it “light,” so that it never gets too intense, you never have to actually “work” to make your character profound or lore-worthy, and it’s generally just a fun way to pass some time. Others like it “heavy;” they view their characters as works of art, taking special care to make their characters believable and interesting, and sometimes planning special roleplaying events for their guild to enjoy. Some even try to do everything in-character, from repairing armor to marking out targets with raid symbols.”

Ask a Lore Nerd: The Evil-o-Meter

“Welcome to Ask a Lore Nerd, the column that answers your questions about the story and lore of the Warcraft universe. Click the Comments link below, ask your question, and blogger/columnist Alex Ziebart will answer you in a future installment!”

Breakfast Topic: Finding motivation to level or grind

Arrowd of the US Cairne server has a question: How do you keep leveling without getting bored, abandoning a character, or rerolling? She says that she’s had around 14 characters, and she’s never managed to stick with one past about level 45. She always gets bored, and she wonders if there is a way to avoid it.”

A Great Reception

Early Thursday morning, in response to Breakfast Topic: Guild hosting, I posted a link to our site. The site got a wonderful response and I thank everyone that posted.

“Site looks great.”

“Oh, very nice, added to my favorites to steal when I need a new site ;-)”

“That page is really, really nice.”

“Wow. That link have given me new faith in what a guild website is capable of looking like.”

New Guild Tabard

We have a new tabard design, please pick one up and wear it proudly. If you can’t afford it contact a higher level player and they should be able to help. If you don’t care for it or have suggestions please contact me.

I went with a neutral, black and white design that tavern workers and adventurers can both wear.

Should go well with everyones armor and characters.
